Digital communication, especially across social media platforms is increasingly driven by visuals. Memes play a significant role in any conversation, community or movement. Often seen as mere trolling tool, memes enable cultural context and commentary to complex events around us. Understanding the methodology and impact of memes is crucial within the attention economy, not only for users but also brand marketers.
This workshop will explore the different types of memes, application methods and how they can influence decision-making. We will also deep-dive into case studies of how memes are weaponised to alter election outcomes or hijack brand narratives.
